Transient thermal response with nonlocal radiation of a blast furnace main trough

چکیده
A mathematical model for the transient thermal behaviour of main trough a blast furnace (BF) is presented. The proposed consists heat equation with mixed radiation-convection boundary conditions to cooling process. coupled an integral posed on inner boundary, which models radiative exchange internal cavity formed by and refractory cover placed over trough. scope this work address evolution temperature field during full BF tapping. reliable algorithm, capable simulating entire campaigns, open-source computing platform FEniCS used numerically solve using finite element method. manufactured solution test diffusion 2D nonlocal radiation defined purpose verifying implementation, comparing performance different time discretization schemes adaptive stepping algorithm. Concerning tapping problem, results show that interval corresponding single tapping, in enclosure swiftly reaches steady state value. Nevertheless, obtain bulk solids, much longer scales are needed due large inertia structure.
